Why sell coffee?
1) Their is a large market - 2nd biggest next to petroleum .
2) It's consumable - for repeat orders.
3) Very little "production" time needed.
4) We have a relationship with a roaster that provides very good fresh roasted coffee to the children at cost.

Does the student have the option of naming their own coffee business?
Yes, we encourage children to create their own name and label which makes their business their own.

How much do the children sell the coffee for?
Lesson 1 walks you through pricing your coffee.  We recommend selling if for twice the cost of the coffee.

I'd like to order a box of 10 bags of coffee, but I need 7 regular coffee and 3 decaffeinated bags of coffee.  Can I do this?
Yes.  This is how to request a mixture of different types of coffee if you order online.  When you order you can request the number of each type of coffee you would like by letting us know in the notes section upon check out.  Of course, you can call 863-661-3855 and place your order over the phone or email in your order to Orders@FatBrainCoffee.com and we will contact you with a total.

Is the coffee naturally or chemically decaffeinated?

The coffee is chemically decaffeinated, in fact, 99% of the coffee in the US is done this way.  Coffee is more expensive if it is done naturally.  Our roaster has tested the coffee and found no traceable chemicals present in a brewed sample.  Our roaster is one of the top five biggest roasters in the US.  So they have the ability to do these kinds of testing and provide a good sense of comfort to their customers.

Is the coffee a "Fair Trade" coffee?

Our roaster, along with several other big companies, like Green Mountain, use to be involved with "Fair Trade Certification," but became disenchanted with the actual flow of money to the farmers and what the artificial pricing was doing to the "free market."  As such, many of the big roasters helped create Coffee Kids.  It was a more effective way to truly help third-world countries and more importantly the local villages and people.  Click here to read their mission statement:  www.coffeekids.org/aboutus/
